Here is a snapshot of a pedigree tree for Joseph Mattimore. The pedigree view mode for family trees shows a root person (in this case, Joseph Mattimore) and his ancestors to the right. Henry Mattimore and Mary O’Rourke were his parents. The next level shows his two sets of grandparents, then his four sets of great grandparents, and so on.
